Full Grand Master Mosquito Hawk Moon

This one is a Super Moon or so  my My Moon Phase app says. The Full Grand Master Mosquito Hawk Moon rises at about 830 after a memorable sunset at 8. P and I hope to meet up with Eddie B at his perch out on the edge of the great Sacred Swamp, Atchafalaya, for both events. Our hope is to have a glass of tart red in our hands so we can salute you our friends. We sort of invited ourselves.

Quote from my Yoga Tea bag, "Find strength in knowing that you can make a difference in the world."

7-2-23 Full Longest Day Moon was not a disappointment here on the Gulf Rim, but boy is it dry.

I have finished Lab Girl, Y'all! Another great read! I've begun Hope Jahren's "The Story of More".

I was on campus Monday, we were talking and one of the Dr's walked up with a young visitor from Norway, Charles. Charles, finished HS headed to U to study Chemistry, was doing research in Dr's lab. Really bright person, turns out to be Hope Jahren's son, small world y'all. Charles and his hosts, Dr's family, were my guests Friday, we met at the Cathedral Oak to give it a group hug, good to share that with like-minded folk.

Drove over to Eddie's for a sit in his yard and watch the wonders of the Solar System and Universe. Amazing place to watch from. AND he was there feeling quite philosophical, it was a really good visit.

7-10-23 P found this huge MIKI or cat damaged Mosquito Hawk (dragonfly to you non south La folks) in our rear yard. iridescent  green eyes, black with gold markings on thorax and abdomen. WOWSER! I shot a photo off to Mac V and he quickly shot back, after a latinized name, Grand Master, a high flier, late in the day.

Then Mac, my resident mosquito hawk expert, among other things, shot back, "I'm a bit rusty, it was probably a River Cruiser. He is forgiven, I am grateful for his attention.

I planted Red Okra and Southern Pea late in the School Garden, The pea is the Variety Tohono O'odhan (Papago) a Southwest US first peoples variety. both quite vigorous.

Another quote from a Yogi tea bag: "Your strength is shared when you are present for others." Amen!

7-27-23 Headed East to Prairieville to pray on a tree for guy who lost his favorite tree to collapse. Sad sight. As I made my way East I hit a spot on the Teche with a good view of the horizon and that orange globe was so fine and sitting right on the edge of the Earth.

Y'all get out there and enjoy the sights tonight, sunset and moonrise! Bring the old people and kids (unplugged) it will be memorable.

peace and love

BT
